Terms and Conditions
Version 2026-10-v4 · Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and [company name to be published], [registered office to be published], India ("Ilayra", "we", "us"), for your use of the Ilayra app and related services ("the Service"). By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
1. Health information disclaimer — please read
- Information, not medical advice. Everything in Ilayra — articles, the library, cycle and pregnancy tools, diet and fitness plans, the anaemia companion, fasting and festival guidance, the mood check-in, students' quizzes, relationships content and AI coach answers — is general health information for education and awareness. It is based on published medical guidelines (such as WHO, ICMR, FOGSI and NICE) but it is not personalised medical advice.
- No diagnosis, treatment or prescription. Ilayra does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, does not prescribe or dose any medicine, and is not a medical device. It does not replace a doctor, nurse, midwife, dietitian, physiotherapist, counsellor or other qualified professional. Always speak to one before starting, stopping or changing any medicine, diet, exercise or treatment, and never delay seeking care because of something you read in the app.
- Estimates only. Period predictions, fertile windows, due dates and other numbers are estimates. They are not a method of contraception and must not be relied on to avoid or achieve pregnancy.
- Screening, not diagnosis. The postnatal mood check-in and similar questionnaires can suggest that you talk to a professional; they cannot tell you whether you have a condition.
- Diet and fitness. Meal and workout plans are general guidance for healthy adults and life stages. If you are pregnant, have recently given birth, have a medical condition (such as diabetes, heart, kidney or thyroid disease, an eating disorder or allergies) or take regular medicine, check with your doctor first. Stop any exercise that causes pain, dizziness, bleeding or breathlessness.
- The AI coach can be wrong. Its answers are generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not rely on it for medical decisions.
- Pregnancy. Tools such as the kick counter and contraction timer help you notice changes. If you are worried about yourself or your baby, contact your doctor or hospital at once, whatever the app shows.
- Not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 112 (police, fire, ambulance) or 108 (ambulance). For mental-health support, call Tele-MANAS on 14416.
- Your responsibility. Decisions about your health are yours to make with your healthcare provider. To the extent the law allows, Ilayra is not liable for any loss or harm arising from relying on general information in the app instead of professional advice. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
2. Safety features
- SOS, Safe Walk, live location and alerts depend on your phone, its battery, location services, mobile network, SMS delivery and our servers. We work hard to make them reliable, but we cannot guarantee that an alert will be delivered or arrive in time.
- Safety features help you reach people you trust; they do not replace emergency services. When you are in danger, call 112 directly if you can.
- You are responsible for adding correct phone numbers for your trusted contacts and for having their agreement to receive alerts.
- Do not trigger SOS or Safe Walk falsely or to harass anyone.
3. Who can use Ilayra
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under 18, online features (such as the AI coach or SOS through our server) need the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- You must give accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.
4. Your account
- Keep your password secret and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us at once at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in My profile › Delete account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Ilayra to find out, predict or communicate the sex of a foetus, or for any purpose prohibited by the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994;
- use Ilayra for anything unlawful, harmful, abusive, or to monitor or track another person without their knowledge;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, test or break our security (except under our responsible disclosure policy in Data security), reverse-engineer the app, or overload our services;
- copy or resell our content without permission.
6. Subscriptions and payments
- Ilayra is free to use. Ilayra Plus and Ilayra Family are optional paid plans with extra features. Safety features and your data-protection rights are always free.
- Prices are shown in Indian rupees including GST before you buy.
- App Store and Google Play subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google under their terms. They renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before renewal. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Free trials, where offered, turn into paid subscriptions unless cancelled before they end. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- Direct passes (where offered). On our website, and in the Android app where Google allows it, you can buy a one-time pass for 1 month or 1 year through our payment partner Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets). A pass does not renew and nothing is charged again. Razorpay processes your payment details; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Your pass is linked to your Ilayra account and starts when payment is confirmed; buying another pass adds its days to any remaining time. If a payment fails or you are charged twice, or you are not satisfied, write to [email protected] within 7 days of payment for a refund of an unused pass. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–7 working days.
- If we change a price, we will tell you in advance; it never affects a pass you have already bought, and for subscriptions it applies only from your next renewal.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
6A. Partner offers
- Partner offers are coupons from shops, cafés, studios and online stores ("outlets") for Ilayra Plus and Family members aged 18 and over. They are paid promotions: outlets pay us to list them. We check each outlet and offer before it appears, but the outlet, not Ilayra, provides the goods or services and is responsible for them and for honouring the coupon on its stated terms.
- Some offers are first come, first served; some are lucky draws, where winners are picked at random by computer when the draw closes. Monthly limits per member apply so everyone gets a fair chance. A coupon is for your own use and cannot be sold or transferred.
- Show the code in the app at the counter (its numbers change every 30 seconds), or use the shared or online code shown. Each coupon has a start and end date and time set by the outlet. A used or expired coupon cannot be used again. If an outlet refuses a valid coupon, tell us through the app or at [email protected].
- We never share your name, contact details or health information with outlets. We may pause or remove any offer.
7. Content and intellectual property
- The app, its design, content, text, logo and name "Ilayra" belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes.
- What you log in the app is yours.
8. Third-party services
Ilayra uses third-party services (for example app stores, payment, SMS, email and maps). Their own terms apply to your use of them. Links to other websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
9. Changes and availability
- We improve Ilayra over time and may add, change or remove features. We will try to give notice of significant changes.
- We may suspend or end access for anyone who seriously breaks these terms or the law, after notice where reasonable. You can export your data before your account is closed.
10. Liability
- We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent allowed by Indian law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control (such as network or power failures).
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
11. Grievances
- Grievance Officer: [name to be published], [company name to be published], [registered office to be published], [email protected], under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within one month for consumer complaints, and within 90 days for data-protection complaints.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Ilayra after that, the new terms apply. The version and date are shown at the top.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your rights as a consumer, the courts at [city to be published] have jurisdiction.
